my warp is painted and on  the loom! how exciting! i cant wait until i start weaving this weekend! i have a feeling that once I start I won't be able to stop.

secretly, Im becoming very interested in dying.
it was a lot of fun mixing dye, and its really amazing to me that i did that color. i mixed a whole lot of different mx dyes to come up with 7 different colors. i was hoping for darker colors but im really happy with this.

I need to start dying my skeins of yarn  for the weft this weekend before I start weaving.

still need to add a few things, but done for the most part.

me on the left, william on the right. you cant really see detail, but.

its obviously two embroideries, with string hanging off of them.

my teacher liked the one of me but thought something was missing of william. i like the both equally.

i cant wait to have a whole lot of them next to each other all finished. ugh so much work to do.

im really stressed out from school and work and im really pissed that i dont really have time to knit. its getting kind of cold and the only thing i want to do right now is knit a beautiful fair isle hat :(
as i speak, i have full knowledge that i should have three sculptures done by monday at 9am.

my teacher didnt like my tennis balls either. i loved them. hmph.

so the benefits of working at urban outfitters= awesome music. look up Lykke Li. she's amazing. i want to go to her show at the black cat in DC.

my yarn hasn't come in for my new weaving for woven imagery yet. my class is monday afternoon and unless it comes in monday morning i dont know what im supposed to do in class.

i think its time to take the air conditioner out of my window.....

this is week number two of drawing homework. it was an open assignment. i just wanted to embroider text. this is a bad image but you get the idea.

its not a finished piece either. i mean. there is no more embroidery to be done but there will be a lace border.

i need a be a little more personal in this blog so that i can look back at this in two years and say what the fuck was i thinking?

So i have to go to sculpture and weaving tomorrow. i dont know what i was thinking doubling up studios (thats 12 hours of school total mind you). i was so excited for my sculpture teacher, i doubled up because of her, honestly. i think she hates me.

i think i might have accidentally stepped on her installation in the faculty  exhibition. I'm actually the most clumsy person in the entire world, and i was standing there in the gallery watching her set up one of her installations with like a glass pendulum or something and i waited till she was done so i could say hi and she looked up at me like i was retarded,
and i was really like shocked and i felt really dumb

and then she walked away and i walked a little away and looked over and noticed there was a whole other sculpture there, virtually right where i was standing. its a miracle i didnt actually run into the sculpture, it was like a chair on top of salt and i looked and noticed that the salt was a little further than the rest of the pile,
so i think i stepped on some of the salt. id be offended if someone were standing on my salt.

i think im just crazy and read into things a little too much.

the start of something new.

well. I'm a sophomore fibers major at the maryland institute college of art(mica) right now, and im a little busy, but I'll try to update this with my work as much as possible.

hopefully this blog is here to stay.

my computer was stolen last year, along with all of my work so i need an online home for all of it.

ill start off with my drawing homework from last week. the assignment was to draw a vessel.

it was really a gamble embroidering for drawing class but my teacher loved it. i like it too. im doing a lot more embroidering this semester.
