and now, a knitography of instarsia hats that all are useless, for they are too small, or unfinished. enjoy.

i started knitting tonight. i spent like 3 hours making hats that i really want to make, but its with my scrap yarn so theyre really really ugly. i give up, i just have to wait till next week when i can buy the good stuff.

well my house was broken into [again] , on christmas. and my new vacuum cleaner and new bedsheets were stolen.
so i guess it was a bad start to winter break.

im going to start knitting stuff next week, when i have money for yarn (because a rat ate all of my yarn)
-yes, my house really is that bad.

i also have to start prepping for the weaving show next month, its exciting but i dont need that responsibility. i have to make a book to match the entries on the ikat piece i did about my cat. and i have to make a ramp- its 5 yards long, and it starts on the wall and curves onto the floor-
so theres going to be a stretcher, but also a ramp, that matches the wall. its gonna be coooool.

so after new years (im going to get plastered because i havent since summer),
im really going to make this a productive break.
but i had my first day off today since break started, where i havent had to do anything and its been amazing.

i got a B+ in sculpture. i really did think i was going to do really bad.  the photo is my sculpture final. its called Baltimore 1994.
the image isnt good, but theres a lamp post on the left and a rat on the right. theres a plush natty boh beer can and the center is quilted. i dunno.

"WOW! those plots are bigger and deeper than ever! the new george forman grill."

i want to talk more about me. is that so bad.

I really like chocolate. i dont know when this started, but i think when i stopped eating meat i substitutes it for sugar.

the two things i want the most for christmas are a loom and another cat. honestly thats really really what i want. i already have Cleo but honestly the second cat is not so much for me as it is for her. she needs someone to keep her company during the day!

and i want a loom so that i can use it for weaving for everyday stuff. like clothes. honestly, i really want to start making useful things that are not art. and then ill have my loom at school for school projects. i dont care if its a table or floor loom. it just needs to be at least  4 harnesses.

i know im not getting either one of these things. because my roommate is allergic to cats (cleo stays over william's right now)
and looms are expensive and no one that is buying me things can afford one. including me. so. the end.

this is King Ken. Thanks Ace.

i keep listening to kanye west. is that so bad.
i want a car too.

i feel guilty about it because it the wrong time to want a car. but im tired of walking and buses...

and i want to decide some times that i want to go places like silver spring and dc and like...uh towson. and have it not take two hours to get there. you know! but im not getting a car. atleast not until graduation. then there are no promises.

i wonder how many times my hand is going to go up and down tonight.
i wish i could count.
i've never thought about how many times before.
i want to imagine it as some amazing number like 2400 or something.

but i dont know.

im staying up all night. i have to finish four. plus 2 one page papers, a 3 page paper, and 3 paragraphs on each sculpture ive done this year. by tomorrow :)

im done sculpture and weaving! till mid-january.

i didnt go to sleep sunday night, and finished my sculpture installation. but it wasnt that great, i didnt think. my teacher liked it, so whatever.
id post photos but im too lazy.

and then my weaving meeting or whatever. So we're having a weaving show, opening January 31st. Im really really excited.  my teacher said i could put both of my weavings into it.

we're going to have a loom set up in the middle of the gallery and weave through the show.

so now i just have to finish with drawing(embroidery),  (and throw in a few papers ug.)

im going to be knitting a lot a lot during break so starting this weekend, youre going to be seeing a lot more intarsia and a lot more lace on this bitch, yo.

i should be working on finals right now but im not.
mostly because im having a drama-rama fest with my boyfreind.  i dont know. well. anyway. listening to kanye west 808s and heartbreaks...or whatever its called.

so so so bored with drawing. like ive really had enough of this semester, im pretending im done. ive got so much to do next week though, i should really be doing it now. i dont think im going to sleep tomorrow night.

1. my drawing homework. so frustrated. i didnt go to the last class friday because i overslept (until 1130.)
2. part of my sculpture installation. trying to make baltimore cute. thats a cute rat. equally frustrated because i have minimal, minimal sewing skills.  im going to take a workshop next fall. ill learn. i feel like im going to get a B - - - - - (thats read B minus minus minus minus minus.)

i know i know, really really bad at keeping up with said blog. just wanted to post some pictures up,
maybe chat it a little..
this is my double cloth weaving project! Im really really happy with it, ill have some really good pictures someday, but today is not that day.

P.s. double cloth takes fucking forever. so planned 3 yards probably turned into a little over 1. 20" wide though.

mine was one of the bigger in class, i think. it takes so long! i dont know if it was worth it.
it didnt turn out as cute as i wanted.
i call it Kitty Vices. its all about kitties doing horrible things, notice detail shots.

I want to make this a more life-y blog but i dont know, my lifes not interesting because its just school and work, which are not that interesting right now.

i could talk a little about the latest books i bought. Urban outfitters is so horrible. like what a horrible company. but. i will say that they have some god books sometimes. well i bought this book called Illustration play. I mean.
I guess the problem with these books is that they all have the same artists!
I really love:

Megan Whitmarsh,
subversive cross-stitching
sublime stitching,
and knitta

but i swear they are in every single "craft-y" book ever.

and i cant decide where i stand on the toping of craft vs. art (not the fair, the actual topic).
like...I really like the idea of craft, it makes a lot of sense and it reminds me of WWII. which is adorable. and also it makes a lot of sense in the
-economic climate- or whatever.

by the way, this
-economic climate- like...i dont know. i know that its a real issue and like its serious and everything,
but. doesnt anyone, ANYONE consider that maybe maybe maybe its just a little bit of a hype?  mean i know for sure that its there but is it there to the extent that everyones making it out to be? im not denying it, i just really dont know that much and when i watch the news i get depressed so i dont. that happens a lot in baltimore.

speaking of economy, i bought an umbrella today. i didnt want to, but i walked home in the rain yesterday and was soaked, and i didnt want to do it again today, + i had to go straight to class.
and..it matched my coat and rain boots. i looked cute today, just an f.y.i.
